Influential Speaker Bishop Dr.  Murtland R. Massiah, CCH Headlines 2024 National Youth Conference - By Delicia Haynes

Dr. Murtland Raphael Massiah, CCH, the Assistant General Bishop of the Assemblies of God (AOG) in Guyana, has been chosen as the keynote speaker for the AOG National Youth Conference 2024. The event will take place on May 1st at the Guyana Police Force Sports Complex in Georgetown, and is expected to draw hundreds of young people from across Guyana.

Dr. Massiah is a highly respected mentor, preacher, and teacher in the area of Kingdom Leadership Concepts. He is an accomplished theoretic Doctor of Transformational Leadership and also the holder of a Master’s Degree in Theology. He has been the senior Pastor at one of the largest AOG churches in Georgetown for more than 30 years, and serves as Vice-Chairman of the International Third World Leadership Association (ITWLA). He is also the first Guyanese to serve as a Resident Coordinator and Faculty member of the Haggai Institute in Maui and Singapore.

Dr. Massiah is known for engaging and impacting the next generation, and the National Youth Conference provides a unique opportunity for young people to exhibit their talents and develop camaraderie while fostering inter-church collaboration. The theme for this year's conference is ‘Unhindered Power’ with Scripture reference Acts 1:8.

​

The National Youth Conference offers a diverse range of activities, including Bible quizzes, elocution, drama, poetry, dance, and songs from soloists, duets, groups, and choirs. The event is designed to facilitate awareness, encourage competition, and set the stage for wholesome worship, with a focus on fostering a platform of collaboration and connection among young people of like faith from around the country.

Dr. Massiah's unique and relevant administering of the Word of God is widely celebrated and recognized. He has been conferred as a National Awardee with Guyana’s third-ranking National Award, the Cacique Crown of Honour (CCH). His achievements are many, and he is a true inspiration to young people who want to embrace their God-given talents and gifts.

Reverend Winston - By Mary Adams

Reverend Winston Assanah, who hails from the village of Enmore on the East Coast of Demerara, is the National Youth Ministries Director of the Assemblies of God in Guyana, for the past fifteen (15) years. He is also a Senior Assistant Pastor at First Assembly of God Wortmanville (FAOGW) in Georgetown.

​

With a background in public education, Reverend Assanah is driven by a desire to pioneer, train, develop and empower children and youth to live a purpose-driven life. He also wears many other hats, namely, he is a radio personality on the local morning radio program ‘the Gospel Plane’ on 93.1 Real FM, and often features on FAOGW social media week production program, ‘Choices’.

​

Reverend Assanah holds a Master’s Degree in Transformational Leadership, a Degree in Theology, and Business Management, form Bakke Global University, Caribbean School of Theology, and University of Guyana, respectively.

​

He has devoted his life to the work of the kingdom of God and has served in ministry for over thirty years, together with his wife Minister Karen Assanah, who is a professional banker, and a Deaconess at FAOGW.
